Regulatory levels

The regulations governing cladding products are governed by :

European regulations dictate the main guidelines

• ETAG 017 for insulated cladding without backing structure (CWoB), known as “vêture” or “vêtage”.
• ETAG 034 for Cladding with backing structure (ITE, ventilated facade).
• Eurocodes for calculation rules (wind, seismic, shock, etc.)

French regulations

• 1980 decree for ERP
• 1986 decree for housing
• The labor code for the tertiary sector
• IT 249
• Les cahiers du CSTB

To certify a product on the French market, it must be covered by :

• a DTU for traditional products,
• a DTA for CE-marked products,
• an AT for non-traditional products.
