Beauverger Tower (37)
Tours, Indre-et-Loire
The project involves the thermal renovation of 84 housing units, with the installation of facade cladding, the upgrading of ventilation systems in the units, and the replacement of the existing residential fence with a rigid fence on a low concrete wall.
What’s particularly noteworthy about this Thermal Exterior Insulation (TEI) project for the thermal renovation of a high-rise residential building is the possibility of using a single material and system to treat all the facades in a unique way; in this case, RHODES (crumpled paper finish) White and SMOOTH MATT Basalt Grey, used with the CAREA® (CWB) Cladding with backing structure system.
Indeed, the use of this unique system, which offers very different aesthetics, simplifies renovation and sets it apart from housing projects with more monolithic facades. With Papier froissé white and Lisse Gris basalte, it was possible for the architect to mix different finishes and textures, while retaining the mineral spirit of quartz-based granite.
To go into a little more detail, the CAREA® Cladding with backing structure (CWB) system is made up of grooved Mineral Composite slabs inserted on a network of aluminum rails, with completely invisible fixings.
Particularly suited to difficult areas, CAREA® is easy to maintain and highly resistant to damage (the product is non-porous and highly scratch-resistant).
Finally, it’s worth noting that this type of renovation adds a bold, sober touch to the Urban ensemble.
The facade of this housing structure fits perfectly into both the Urban space and the neighborhood’s residential environment: the enhancement of heritage is a key element in the success of this project.
