At the beginning of 2006, Seura initiated a project with the CAREA® design office.
Objective: to design and build a double-skin façade using cladding elements created from VEGETAL motifs, based on matrices made by Florence Bougnoux, in an “arts and crafts” spirit highly representative of the Faubourg’s artisanal activities.
The first phase of this collaboration between the architectural firm and CAREA® was the integration of the metal framework and Cladding elements into the building’s general execution plans. This was followed by discussions to develop the prototype cladding, which, among other things, was to form a continuous pattern when the elements were assembled, and the precise definition of the color.
A second phase involved the layout of the hotel façade, including precise positioning of the anchors to match the cladding patterns. In this way, meticulous work was carried out upstream to anticipate and regulate every detail of the installation suggestions: subtly treated chamfers, carefully executed angles with rigorous respect for pattern transfers and connections.
This work was the inspiration for the VEGETAL cladding, custom-made for the occasion and now available in a range of CAREA finishes.
